Whilst this is not impossible it is not the best way to do things and if you want to get the best results you should be thinking 6 months ahead for all of your seasonal promotions.
SEO can act very quickly and you can get great results fast, but you cannot guarantee anything! If you have a seasonal promotion, for example a Christmas promotion you should be working on it around 5 or 6 months before the release of the promotions.
That isn’t to say you have to show all your offers and let your competitiors know what you will be doing for Christmas, but to get good positions in the SERPs for Christmas offers you should start now.
SEO often takes 3 to 6 months to get good results and depending on the industry and the potential revenue you need to anticipate the competition and start building up the relevance of your site or landing pages before the competition and before the traffic starts coming in for these keywords.
If you are an online retailer and get a large amount of your business at Christmas then you cannot afford to be leaving things till the last minute. Plan your campaigns now and start working on the SEO, get the rest of your online marketing inline with this, such as email marketing, or social media so when December the 1st arrives you will be ready to go and already your site will have the relevance and strength to back this up.
The same rule applies for any seasonal promotions you want to include in your annual marketing, this may be New Years hotel offers or Valentines offers, or perhaps you sell back to school products. Whatever it is you are promoting, do not leave it till the last minute talk to your SEO company today!
