Blogging – The What, Why and How
A blog can basically be an individual’s journal that they make available on the web. It can also be in the form of a news section such as on the Falkon Digital website, but blogs tend to be more informal than a ‘news’ section. The process of updating a blog by adding new posts is called ‘blogging’, and someone that owns blog and updates it is called a ‘blogger’.
There are many different blog platforms available. A user can register a blog with a website such as ‘WordPress’ (one of the most popular publishing platforms) or they can choose to integrate and install a blog onto their own website. Having a blog on your website in this way can be extremely beneficial in terms of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as it is a great way of adding unique, relevant and regularly updated content to your site. Search engines such as Google favour news websites and sites that update their site regularly, which can improve your rankings in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). There are many, many other SEO benefits to having a blog which I’m not going to try and list in this one post, but if you have any other questions about blogs, blogging or how to get a blog on your website then why not contact us for more information.
